My name is Pastor Shawn Clay. I am the founder of New Beginnings Ministries, a 501(c)3 based in Salt Lake City. We are proud of our mission and outreach: To transform the lives of men and women being released from Utah State Prison, and to serve the homeless men, women and families living on the streets.

My name is Pastor Shawn Clay. I am the founder of New Beginnings Ministries, a 501(c)3 based in Salt Lake City. We are proud of our mission and outreach: To transform the lives of men and women being released from Utah State Prison, and to serve the homeless men, women and families living on the streets.
These are the communities I come from, as I was homeless for many years, a time during which I self medicated my lifelong trauma with crack cocaine and crystal meth, addictions that caused me to spend many years in and out of jails and prison. (Pictures by Nicki Chan Wylie)

Here at New Beginnings Ministries we believe that the Hand of God can touch anyone. After all, God reached out to me in my many years of addiction and homelessness

I want people to know that I am not just someone who helps others so that I can feel better about myself; I am here to show people that there really is a way out of hell.
